What is Adventure Squads for Teens?
Squads has been one of our longest running youth programs, and has been run on an invitational basis only accepting climbers who are serious about climbing & progressing. It is taking on a new look as we focus on learning skills that translate to outoor climbing. Being the only gym in Sydney to teach safety & rope climbing alongside climbing skills.
Squads is an excellent way for our young climbers to further develop and refine their climbing abilities. The program is made up of a Junior and a Senior group, who train twice weekly under the guidance of several highly experienced trainers and long term NBRH staff members, with teaching focused on personal development in climbing as well as advanced technique in all disciplines and competition prep.
Due to the higher intensity of the program, the age bracket is 10 - 18 years old and it is best suited to climbers who are already climbing medium - hard grades with confidence.
Timing & Pricing:
Junior Adventure Squads runs during the school term on:
Monday 4pm - 6pm
Thursday 4pm - 5:30pm
Squad fees for the term are $350, which includes entry to the gym during Squad sessions twice a week. The fees do not include Hire Gear.
Senior Adventure Squads runs during the school term on:
Tuesday 4pm - 6pm
Thursday 5:30pm - 7pm
Squad fees for the term are $499, which includes entry to the gym during Squad sessions twice a week & outdoor days lead by our trained staff. The fees do not include Hire Gear.
How do I sign my child up for Squads?
Application Process:
As our Adventure Squads program is for experienced climbers only, we require you to fill out the application including previous climbing experience and what grade they are climbing at.
If they have not been through one of our programs before it is likely that we will need to see them climb before being accepted into the program. We run 2 sessions before the term begins which you will be required to attend 1 of so that we can assess your childs climbinb ability to ensure the program is right for them.
